I’ve worked a four-day week (Fridays off) across several organisations for the past decade. It gives me the flexibility to be present for my children while building a successful career focused on my strengths and achievements. Fridays are for personal appointments and getting the family set for the weekend, so we can spend Saturday and Sunday together rather than catching up on chores. Flexibility runs both ways: I’m available by phone to keep client work moving, and I’ll join the occasional meeting when needed. I’m proud to show that senior part-time roles are achievable and worth considering that both professional and personal needs can be met. Being in a senior role part-time has genuinely enabled me to stay in the workforce while my children are young, at a level that keeps me challenged. It isn’t always a perfect balance, life moves in seasons, but overall it’s far more sustainable.
