Working part time in a senior role has been life-changing for me. It’s given me the space to be fully present with my young family while still doing work I love at a level that challenges and stretches me. I’ve found that fewer hours make me more intentional—there’s no room for busywork, so I focus on what truly moves the needle.

The biggest thing that makes it work is being clear from the start—about expectations , priorities, and how we communicate. My work hours are my focus time. That clarity means I can switch off without guilt and switch on without distraction.

What I wish more people understood is that senior part-time roles aren’t a compromise—they’re an opportunity. They bring new perspectives, make space for diverse leaders, and show that you can be ambitious and have balance. I’m proof that you can work fewer hours and still have a big impact.
