Ange Welch-Peters

My family are my priority.

As much as I love my role and the work that I do, nothing is more important than my husband and our two children. Being present for my family's needs and special moments was my key consideration when returning to the workforce after 10 years. Not only did I find a role that excites and challenges me, but it is also alongside a woman who champions work/family/life balance. Bridget not only understands my situation but supports it! I work 20-24 hours a week and am trusted to deliver professionally, which I find easier to do knowing those hours are flexible.

I initially found it hard to log off when thoroughly engrossed in a report or project. I have learned how to better prioritise, and since the chance of being interrupted or needed by my kids is greater in the afternoon, I tend to tackle the big things earlier in the day. Being successful as a part-time professional is something I’m proud of. I am maintaining a fulfilling career without compromising the quality time I spend with my loved ones.
